30: THE END

You made it. We're done. It's over.

This is the last email in the course.

But you know what?

We ain't even started yet... 

We think we're so bloody clever, don't we? Chatbots that answer our questions. AI tools that operate by themselves. Agents that do the work of an entire team... 

But despite all that, we still haven't designed a system that enables our people. A system that defines best practice, captures expertise, provides guidance, removes duplication, connects tools, measures performance, maintains quality, surfaces insights, and continually improves itself.

Why don’t we cater for the needs of our people?
Why are we reliant on heroic effort?
Why don't we have a satnav for work? 

Because it’s difficult - it requires organisation-wide coordination.
Because it’s lonely - foundational work rarely attracts much attention.
And because it requires patience - small improvements take time to compound.

Did you know organisation-wide innovation takes between five and eight years? The average tenure of a knowledge worker is three! Is it any wonder the system doesn't change when so many people leave before those improvements have time to compound?

So yes, we're done with this course - but we haven't even started yet. Because whilst those building AI are celebrating all the clever new tools they’ve created, we’re busy doing the grunt work.

A new way of working.
A new discipline.
A new capability.
A new form of people enablement. 

Workflow Engineering.

So, if you've enjoyed what you've read, don't go anywhere - we've only just begun. I'll be asking more questions, challenging more assumptions, and sharing more ideas as we test this out in the field. 

It's time for a Workflow Revolution - and I'm pumped to be involved.
